MEV-WEB, EXPLAINED

The MEV-WEB, explained without the headache

If you run a restaurant in Quebec, Revenu Québec now requires your sales to be recorded through a certified system. It sounds complicated. In practice it is one piece of equipment, set up once, and you are done.

We install it, configure it, train your staff, and stay reachable afterward. Most restaurants are up and running in a single visit.

The MEV-WEB, explained without the headache

Does this apply to you?

If you serve food or drink in Quebec and you are registered for the QST, almost certainly yes.

Restaurants, bistros, bars, cafés, snack bars, catering, food trucks, and hotels or inns with food or bar service.

It also covers wineries and cideries, and anyone selling in a bar or at a licensed event.

Not sure where you land? Tell us how you operate and we will confirm it in a phone call — no cost, no commitment.

What you actually need

Three things, and the system handles all of them once it is installed.

A certified system

Equipment that appears on Revenu Québec's official certified list. Ours does — nothing extra for you to register or file.

Your sales sent automatically

Every transaction is transmitted to Revenu Québec on its own, in the background. Nobody on your team has to remember anything.

A proper bill for every customer

The system produces the required invoice at the end of each sale, exactly as the rules expect.

We handle the whole thing

Optimum Payment is a certified Clover reseller, and Clover appears on Revenu Québec's official list of certified sales recording systems. That means you are not assembling anything or chasing paperwork — you pick a terminal, we take care of the rest.

  • Certified equipment, installed on site
  • Setup and transmission verified before you go live
  • Your team trained on the day
  • Bilingual support afterward, by real people

Two Clover products are certified for the MEV-WEB: Clover MEV Connect and Clover MEV Web.

How it works

Three steps, and we do the work in all three.

1. We look at your setup

A quick conversation about how you take orders and payments today, and which certified option fits.

2. We install and configure

The system is set up and connected, and we confirm your sales are transmitting correctly before you rely on it.

3. We train your team

Your staff learn the daily routine in about an hour. Then we stay reachable whenever something comes up.

Where the deadline stands

The requirement took effect on June 1, 2025, and the older physical MEV boxes stopped working in August 2025. If you are still running one, or you are not sure what you have, it is worth a five-minute check — Revenu Québec does inspect, and getting current is straightforward once someone looks at it.

Where this comes from

The requirements described here are set by Revenu Québec, which publishes and updates the official list of certified sales recording systems.

This page is a plain-language summary, not legal or tax advice. Your own obligations should be confirmed with Revenu Québec or your accountant.
